FAQ

  • 1. What’s the difference between a car wash and a professional detail?

A car wash focuses on quick surface cleaning. A professional detail goes much deeper — cleaning, restoring, and protecting every surface inside and out. At BK’s Mobile Detailing, we remove built-up grime, clean all cracks and crevices, and use professional-grade products to protect your vehicle’s surfaces long-term.

  • 2. What is auto detailing?

Auto detailing is a comprehensive cleaning, restoration, and protection process for your vehicle, both inside and out. Unlike a standard car wash, detailing focuses on cleaning hard-to-reach areas, removing contaminants, and restoring surfaces to their original condition. At BK’s Mobile Detailing, we use professional-grade products and techniques to ensure that your vehicle not only looks great but is also protected from wear and tear.

  • 3. How long does a typical detail take?

Depending on the package and condition of your vehicle, details can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. Ceramic coatings or paint correction services can take longer due to prep and curing times.

  • 4. Do you come to me, or do I need to drop off my vehicle?

We’re fully mobile — we bring everything to you! All we need is access to your vehicle! For more advanced coatings and paint correction, we ask for the vehicle to be dropped off to complete the job indoors to control curing conditions.

  • 5. How often should I schedule auto detailing?

The frequency of auto detailing depends on your vehicle’s usage and exposure to the elements. For daily drivers, we recommend detailing every 3 to 4 months. If your vehicle is exposed to harsh conditions or you want to maintain a ceramic coating, regular maintenance washes and checkups are ideal.

  • 6. Do you offer boat detailing services?

Yes, we specialize in boat detailing to keep your vessel in top condition. Our services include cleaning, polishing, and applying marine coatings to protect against harsh water conditions, UV rays, and oxidation. Whether it’s a small boat or a larger vessel, we’ve got you covered.

  • 7. How do marine coatings protect my boat?

Marine coatings create a durable barrier that protects your boat’s surfaces from water damage, UV rays, and salt corrosion. They also make cleaning easier by preventing the buildup of grime and algae. Our marine coatings are designed to keep your boat looking great and performing well in any environment.

  • 8. What is a ceramic coating, and how does it work?

A ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to your vehicle’s paint that cures into a hard, durable layer. It chemically bonds with the surface to provide long-term protection against dirt, UV rays, water spots, and light scratches — while adding incredible gloss and easy-clean properties. All of our coatings are backed by a warranty and will be registered to your vehicle CARFAX for added value!

  • 9. How do I maintain my vehicle after a ceramic coating?

Maintaining a ceramic-coated vehicle is simple. Regular washing with pH-neutral soap and avoiding abrasive cleaning tools will help preserve the coating. We also recommend periodic maintenance services to extend the coating’s lifespan.

  • 10. How is ceramic coating different from wax or sealant and how long does it last?

Wax typically lasts a few weeks. Sealants last a few months. Ceramic coatings last years. They don’t just sit on top of the paint — they bond with it, providing a much tougher and longer-lasting layer of protection. We offer coatings that range from 3 years to a lifetime depending on the product and maintenance. Regular washing and maintenance help extend the lifespan!

  • 11. What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the process of polishing your paint to remove swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, and haze. It restores clarity and depth before applying protection like a ceramic coating.

  • 12. Can I combine services like paint correction and ceramic coating?

Absolutely! Paint correction is often a preparatory step before applying a ceramic coating. Correcting the paint ensures a smooth, flawless surface for the coating to bond with, enhancing its durability and appearance.

  • 13. Do you offer maintenance services?

Yes — we provide discounted scheduled maintenance washes, decontamination washes, and coating checkups to keep your vehicle looking its best.

  • 14. How is pricing determined?

Pricing depends on vehicle size, condition, and the services you choose. Every vehicle is different, so we provide custom quotes after a quick inspection or photo review.

  • 15. Do you offer free estimates?

Yes, we offer free estimates. You can contact us online, by phone, or by text for a quick quote.
